Executive Mentorship Program

The Executive Mentorship Program (EMP) is meant to give our senior-level students a chance to meet and learn from experienced mentors from the industry.  The program currently pairs around 70+ third and fourth year students with industry mentors.  The extraordinary mentoring relationship allows students to cement their career action plans, direct their extra-curricular activities to achieve their goals, leverage the experience of their mentor, and gain comfort in speaking with industry professionals.

Students apply to the program in September and pass an interview to be admitted.  This ensures that the most enthusiastic and committed students are participating.  The program runs from September to April.  The EMP team will provide support to both mentors and mentees and will host 3 major events during the year (Kick-Off Breakfast in October, EMP Sharing Circle in January and Year-End Gala in March).  After the initial contact, it is up to the mentor and mentee to set the times and places to meet.  Many of the mentoring relationships that have been formed in the past have not ended. Instead, they continue and are ongoing. This is a testament to the quality of the experience that UBC’s Executive Mentorship Program strives for.
