Ever wanted to take a step outside Commerce and get a taste of inter-faculty politics and events? Look no further than the AMS. The Alma Mater Society of UBC is the representative for over 45,000 UBC students and continues “to improve the quality of the educational, social, and personal lives of the students of UBC.” The AMS operates student services such as Safewalk, AMS Minischool, Tutoring, and even your U-Pass. As your Alma Mater Society Representative this year, I am the communication link between Commerce and the AMS.

The New Sub Project Committee – strategic planning behind our $103 million dollar building.

Business and Facilities Committee – effects of HST on AMS food outlets, capital improvements to Whistler Lodge.

The AMS’s shiny new 2010-2011 $15 million dollar budget.

AMS Student Council runs every second Wednesday at 6pm in the SUB Council Chambers.
