About the Competition
JDC West is the largest student run business competition in Western Canada and is a three day event that showcases academic competitions, athletic challenges, a social competition and a charity initiative. Over 500 students from 10 of Western Canada’s top Universities unite annually to compete in this competition that is solely organized by and for business students.
JDC West seeks to assemble the best business students that Western Canadian universities have to offer. The competition provides students an opportunity to compete with each other in all facets of business, while developing networking, critical thinking, and leadership skills as they prepare to begin their careers in the business world.

What is JDC West at Sauder?
JDC West exists to empower undergraduate students through education; we encourage each individual to stretch for new heights. We do so by investing in people. We focus on relationships that extend far beyond the four walls of a classroom, and we champion peer-to-peer learning as an effective compliment to traditional education.
JDC West is looking for three dedicated individuals to carry the executive torch. Each member will be responsible for their own portfolio and will work as a team to complete all tasks. Candidates should have a passionate commitment to JDC West’s relationships-first attitude, enjoy dancing to life’s backbeats and possess an excellent attention to detail.
Put another way, you are a hard-working, get-things-done kind of person who dots your “i’s” and crosses your “t’s” every time, and who will get a kick out of doing something really valuable for others, even if it’s not glamorous.
