The Venture Capital and Private Equity Club (VCPE) was founded in the summer of 2008 with a vision to connect UBC students with professionals from the fields of Venture Capital and Private Equity. In the past year, our club has hosted successful speaker sessions and workshops in collaboration with distinguished individuals from organizations such as General Electric Commercial Finance, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), and the University-Industry Liaison Office at UBC. Building on our past achievements, we have a number of exciting new initiatives going forward, through which we hope to reach all students across campus who share a common interest in private investments.

Upcoming Events
Venture Capital Competition – January
A unique and new initiative in which students are assessed on their skills in private investment evaluation. Students will produce a valuation report which is then evaluated by venture capital professionals serving as judges for this competition.
Company Visits – Year-Round
An opportunity for VCPE members to visit an industry firm. A company visit usually consists of corporate presentations and networking sessions between students and professionals.
Speaker Series – Year-Round
Throughout the year, VCPE will bring in industry speakers to host workshops on topics ranging from entrepreneurship to leveraged buyouts.
Industry Nights – Year-Round
VCPE will occasionally host dinners where students can chat with industry professionals on a more intimate level over food and wine.
