Management Information Systems (MIS) plays an essential role in obtaining, processing, and safeguarding such information so that it is presented to those who need it, when they need it. MIS is essential in any business operation, from something as simple as an Excel spreadsheet of business transactions to a room full of supercomputers that processes client information.
With the rapid pace of globalization, business can be done worldwide with a simple click of a mouse. E-commerce is business anywhere; a web site, a few warehouses, and the need for a store vanishes in an instant.

Business and Computer Science (BUCS) plays the vital role of bridging the gap between developers and stakeholders. Students who complete the program will gain exposure in both the technical and business halves of the IT world. From programming, algorithm design, and software development, to project management, systems analysis, and database management; students will establish career paths that are both technical and/or business-related.
